Glossary of Terms

  • Device - Chromebook, iPad, MacBook 
  • Asset Tag - Unique identifier created by the school as an internal tracking system. Optional
    • User: Anyone that is assigned a device, typically a student, however can be teachers, or classrooms. Some people will think of it as the physical location of a device (in the student’s hands, or carted in a classroom, etc)
    • Manager: IT Department employee usually. This is anyone that needs access to the repairWATCH software to submit repairs. Managers can add devices, users, or repairs.
    • Batch Shipment: A batch of devices being sent in for repair
    • Warranty: Each repair comes with a 1 year parts warranty. 
    • Building: Physical locations that repairs need to ship to and/or from. Different addresses within the district.
